The Bonfire Boyes have received a number of e-mails about the cancellation of Bonfire Night, expressing disappointment that the event had to be cancelled because access was denied to the bonfire field and puzzlement at the attitude of the farmer and the National Trust. The Bonfire Boyes hope to open discussion with the farmer and the Trust about Bonfire Night 2013. They feel the farmer and Trust are simply unaware that Bonfire Night is an important community event. It would help their case enormously if they could demonstrate how popular the event was and are asking residents to e-mail them saying how much the event is enjoyed, emphasising the role it plays in the life of the town and urging the farmer and Trust to be helpful. E-mails should go to [email protected].
