The Order for a footpath is likely to be going ahead following an application by a member of the public. This public footpath will run between the Caravan Park and Harbour Farm Road, linking two footpaths, north and south of it. There were objections to the Order which resulted in the Planning Inspectorate holding a public inquiry in December 2011. Following the Inquiry the Inspector was in favour of confirming the Order, subject to modifications which had to be advertised. The County Council was also in full support. However the modifications were incorrectly printed and had to be advertised again on the 7th September. There is now a second public objection period that expires on 5th October. After this time the Inspector will make his final decision on whether to confirm the Order for a footpath along with modifications or not. If you have any objections regarding the footpath please write to Clive Richards (Rights of Way Section) via email: [email protected] quoting the ref: FPS/G1440/7/24.
