The Rye and District Association of the National Trust are holding a walk on Tuesday 24th April. The walk this month begins at 10.30 am, meeting at the Plough Inn Crowhurst and consists of two circular, hilly walks, from the Plough: 3½ morning and 4 mile afternoon. The next pub quiz at the New Inn, as arranged by the tenants John Towler and Declan Clancy, is this Thursday 26th April at 8.30 to 10 pm.

Hide AdWinchelsea Archaeological Society has organised an outing to Fishbourne Roman Palace and Butser Hill Ancient Farm. Butser Hill is an archaeological open air museum near Petersfield, Hampshire which contains reconstructions of Iron Age roundhouses and is used as a site for experimental archaeology. Fishbourne Roman Palace is in West Sussex and contains the largest collection of mosaics and the recreated Roman gardens are the earliest gardens found in this country. The visit will take place on Saturday 28th April and for bookings you should contact 01797 225333.
Coming soon on Saturday 5th May, 6 for 6.30 pm, is the latest in the series of Fun Quiz nights held in aid of the Rye Winchelsea and District Memorial Hospital. Although this is an opportunity to display your extensive knowledge the evening is also light-hearted with plenty of fun. There will be prizes for the winners, a raffle and a delicious supper waiting to be served.
