Witness appeal after man made threats with claw hammer in Seaford

Police have launched a witness appeal after a man with a claw hammer was seen making threats at pubs and off-licences in Seaford on Friday (December 4).

Officers were called to the town shortly after 3pm and along with a helicopter from the National Police Air Service began to search the town to try to locate the suspect.

The man is described as white, in his 30s, 6ft 2in, stocky, heavily tattooed and with shaved blond hair. He was wearing a white T-shirt bearing a yellow pattern and grey jogging bottoms.

PC Michael Pratley said, “Fortunately nobody was attacked or injured but we would still like to hear from anyone who may have seen something suspicious in the area.

“Witnesses can email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or call 101 quoting reference 862 of 04/12.”
