Witness appeal after woman is robbed in Peacehaven

Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman had her handbag stolen in Peacehaven on Sunday (March 6).

The victim, a 54-year-old from Saltdean, had just left Ladbrokes, on South Coast Road, at around 9.30pm when a man grabbed her bag containing £800 cash, a phonebook and a smart phone before running off along Roderick Avenue.

The suspect is described as a white man, between 5’8” and 5’10”, of slim build and was wearing a dark blue hooded top.

PC Gavin Gillam said: “Fortunately the victim was not physically hurt but has been left understandably shaken.

“If you were in the area and saw anything suspicious please email [email protected] call 101 quoting reference 1326 of 06/03.”
