Witness appeal follows burglary

TWO young local men are helping police with their inquiries following a burglary.

As uniformed officers approached The Grove following a report of a break-in at about 5.25pm last Friday a dog handler was approaching from another direction.

Insp James Scott said that after the handler stopped two men the dog tracked back to the scene of the crime.

Nothing had been taken from the premises but entry had been gained by smashing a rear window. Insp Scott is appealing for anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area of The Grove last Friday afternoon to contact Bexhill police station on 0845 6070999.

He said: "We urge people that if they do see something suspicious they tell us immediately."

Police are also appealing for witnesses to a break-in at The Firle, which also occurred last Friday afternoon. Entry was gained through a garage and property taken.
