The driver was trapped in the wreckage and had to be freed by fire-fighters, but was not thought to have been seriously hurt, said police.

The road was blocked for more than two hours while emergency services were on scene, causing long tailbacks of traffic, police confirmed.

Anyone who saw what happened or noticed the TVR being driven prior to the crash is asked to email [email protected] or phone 101, quoting serial 928 of 30/11.
