Woman admits firearm offence

A 46-year-old Hailsham woman has admitted possessing an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

Leanne George, of Bellbanks Road, pleaded guilty to having an air pistol with the intention of causing someone to fear unlawful violence would be used.

The charge, which she admitted at Lewes Crown Court on Friday, relates to an incident on September 4.

George also pleaded guilty to damaging a windscreen belonging to Dynorod on the same date.

Judge Richard Brown adjourned the case for pre-sentence reports and remanded her in custody to appear again on December 9.

He said: 'In putting it back for a pre-sentence report I'm not indicating any particular sentence.

'The sentencing judge will have all options open to them, including, of course, custody.'
