Woman attacked by mountain dog

An elderly woman was attacked by a large mountain dog.

The woman was walking alone on Pevensey Bay beach when she saw a man and woman walking with two dogs, between the Martello Tower and Sandcastle.

One of the dogs was a dachshund and the other a white Pyrenean dog.

The Pyreanean dog ran up to the woman and bit her arm.

She told the owners their dogs had attacked her but they ignored her and walked on.

The woman suffered bruising to her arm.

She called police.

The attack happened around 3.30pm on Saturday.

Police are looking for a man in his early 40s, of medium build, five foot eight inches tall with a stripy woollen hat and three ear rings on his left ear.
