Woman cut free after A21 crash

A woman was seriously injured after her car collided with a BMW towing a caravan on the A21 at Whatlington last Friday (July 23).

The 61-year-old woman from Hitchin, Hertfordshire, was travelling south towards Hastings at around 10.30am when her blue Nissan Micra was involved in a collision with a green BMW 525 estate car. The Micra then hit the caravan.

The woman was cut free by East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service and rushed to the Conquest Hospital in Hastings.

She suffered a fractured sternum, broken ribs and facial injuries.

The driver of the BMW, a 54-year-old man from Essex, was not hurt.
