Woman from Ford needs hospital treatment after attack

A WOMAN from Ford needed hospital treatment after she was attacked.

The 52-year-old woman was seen to be forcibly restrained at a bus stop in Yapton last Saturday, April 25.

She suffered facial injuries in the incident about 9pm in Burndell Road.

She was taken by ambulance to St Richard’s Hospital in Chichester where she was detained overnight for treatment and observation.

Officers arrested a man, aged 50, from Ford on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm. He was released on conditional bail until May 12 while enquiries continue.

A Sussex Police spokesman said: “Police would like to hear from anyone who saw what happened and, in particular, a man who was flagged down by the woman as she sought help.”
