Woman left lying in the road after accident near Billingshurst

A woman was taken to hospital after an accident on Saturday afternoon, paramedics say.

A South East Coast Ambulance Service spokesman said: “SECAmb was called at 16.56 hrs to reports that a 23 year old woman had come off her bike and was lying injured on the road.

“We dispatched an ambulance and two single responder vehicles.

“The patient was treated at the scene by paramedics for injuries to face, shoulders and chest and was taken by road to Royal Surrey County Hospital for further treatment.”

A crew from the Kent, Surrey and Sussex air ambulance landed nearby and helped at the scene.
