Woman Robbed in Street

A 62 year old woman was subjected to a terrifying attack as she walked home with her shopping.

The victim was walking along Red Lake Terrace at 9.30pm when she was approached by a man who grabbed her round the throat without warning and demanded money from her.

He grabbed her Alldays bag from her, containing shopping and her purse, and pushed her into the road.

Police describe the attacker as 35 - 40 with a full scruffy beard, woolly hat with white band and dark clothing. He had a peculiar stooped walk.

The man drove off in a small car, possibly a Ford Fiesta with a registration similar to 141 NMW
