The body of a woman was recovered from the sea at Peacehaven by volunteers from Newhaven Lifeboat on Friday January 11.
Newhaven’s Severn Class Lifeboat was called to the location at 12.04pm after a report of a person in the water about 50m from the shore.
Walkers on the Promenade at Peacehaven had reported the body.
Sussex Police and HM Coastguard also attended.
The Lifeboat launched at 12.10pm and arrived on scene at 12.23pm.
Crew recovered the body of a woman from the water and returned to the lifeboat station.
