Woman struck by van on the A21

A WOMAN was taken to hospital after she was hit by a van on the A21 at Hurst Green.

The accident happened just after 9am on Wednesday.

South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) sent an ambulance and two paramedic cars to the scene.

The Kent Air Ambulance was also called, but not required.

The 44-year-old was taken to the Conquest Hospital in Hastings via land ambulance with suspected injuries to her head and upper leg.

Witnesses are asked to call Sussex Police on 101.
