A woman has been taken to hospital after a car collided with a lamp post.

Emergency services were called to the scene in Balcombe Road, Worth, at 3.07pm on Wednesday (May 26).

A police spokesman said: “A woman was taken to hospital with minor injuries and the highways authority was called to clear oil from the road.”

A fire service spokesman said no one was trapped in the car. Horsham Fire Station’s aerial ladder platform was used to stabilise a damaged light fitting.

The vehicle was recovered and the road was clear by 4.15pm.
