Woman threw paint over neighbour’s car

A 68-YEAR-OLD woman threw paint over her neighbour’s car because she was annoyed they kept banging on her walls.

Linda Levitt, of Church Way, Worthing, appeared in Worthing Magistrates’ Court on Monday and pleaded guilty to causing criminal damage to a car parked in her road.

Chris Bull, prosecuting, told the court one of Levitt’s neighbours discovered a black substance on the back of their car at around 10am on September 23.

Another neighbour with his own CCTV system had footage which showed Levitt throwing paint over the car.

When interviewed by police Levitt denied having done it, claiming she would have been in bed with her cat but when she was shown the CCTV footage, she admitted she threw a small pot of black paint over the car after drinking a few ciders.

Mr Bull said Levitt blamed ‘two years of grief’ for her actions as she was angered by her neighbour constantly banging on her wall. Levitt was given a 12 month conditional discharge and made to pay £350 compensation plus a £15 victim surcharge.
