Working groups to coordinate parish's response to North Horsham development

North Horsham Parish Council's planning committee has appointed three working parties to co-ordinate a full response to plans for 2,750 homes and a business park north of the A264.

The outline application (DC/16/1677) by Liberty submitted to Horsham District Council includes retail, community centre, leisure facilities, education facilities, public open space, landscaping and related infrastructure and has reserved matters except for access.

The three working groups will look at:-

- Transport including, cycling, pedestrian access and viability of public transport;

- Affordable housing, education, health and community; and

- Environment; and infrastructure which will include noise, flooding, green spaces, internal road design, building design, construction, retail and business.

The working groups will meet informally and the council welcomes input from local residents. If any residents of North Horsham are interested in being directly involved in the working parties please contact the clerk, comments are also welcomed.

An initial response will be put to the parish council for agreement at a specially held Meeting on October 27 prior to submission to Horsham District Council.

As the application develops the parish council will continue to monitor it and comment as appropriate. Progress from the working groups will be reported through the parish council website in the notes of the working parties and minutes.

Parish Council Meetings are held in the Roffey Millennium Hall and usually start at 7.30pm. Members of the public are welcome at all meetings. Details of meetings can be found on the Parish Council website http://www.northhorsham-pc.gov.uk or on notice boards in the parish.

Parish Councils are not statutory consultees and the law only requires Parish Councils to be notified about planning applications relating to land in its area.
