Residents have worked over the years to create streams of bunting for the bi-annual festival but it is now looking a bit jaded.

Chairman Christine Aubrey said: “Having been through the ‘washing machine’ and ‘tumble dryer’ of last summer’s wind and rain, the wonderful bunting which was made by so many members of the community needs a bit of tlc. Specifically, it needs to be re-taped.”

A bunting workshop is being held at Penfold Hall, in Church Street, Steyning, on Saturday, 9.30am to midday.

The aim is to get a group working together to get the job done in one morning. Sewing machine and scissors would be welcome, but not essential.

A specialist team will put up the bunting across the High Street for the festival, from May 24 to June 8.

Christine said a small team of volunteers was needed to put up on banners and boards on Sunday, May 11, and take them back down again on Monday, June 9.
