World class music at castle

ONE of the world’s most celebrated flautists will make a star appearance at a concert in aid of a historic Wealden windmill.

Wissam Boustany will perform with pianist Aleks Szram in the ballroom of Herstmonceux Castle on June 15.

It will be the 11th annual concert to raise money for the windmill at Windmill Hill which was first erected in 1814. The Post Mill is one of the largest in the country with views over the Pevensey Levels.

Music at the event will be a selection of works for flute and piano including Faure Sonata in A major and Chopin Nocturnes for piano solo.

The renowned castle Elizabethan gardens open at 6.30pm for ticket holders and pre-concert champagne and soft drinks will be available.

Tickets are £15 and include a glass of wine or soft drink during the interval. The concert starts at 7.30pm.
