Tom Lines took over Julie Scrumptious, in Brighton Road, back in October from previous owner Julie Evans, who had named the business.

Having worked in different catering roles since the age of 13, Tom said he wanted to take over the reins of his own business.

But since he took over, the 23-year-old has been keen to give the café a brand-new name and take the business in a new direction.

Unable to find a name he was happy with, Tom struck upon the idea to let the people of Worthing name the café.

And there is a prize in store for whoever comes up with the winning name.

Tom said: “I was looking through the Herald and I thought it would be quite good to have people pick a name.

“It seemed to me it would be better if people picked a name I had to call it, rather than the other way around.”

Tom said he had been enjoying running his own business and had future plans to one day expand to have another site in the town.

Tom added: “I’ve washed dishes in pubs since I was 13 and done all kinds of roles in the catering industry, so I decided to go it alone.

“I’ve really enjoyed it.”

Tom is inviting people to send their suggestions by post or email.

The winning pick will be given a meal for two and a small cake hamper.
