Worthing firm uses paddle power for charity

WORTHING firm Kingsley Roofing has donated more than £1,000 to charity after winning a dragonboat competition.

The team beat 15 others in the recent Shoreham Riverfest race on the River Adur, paddling the 250-metre course in 39 seconds.

Managing director Jeremy Taylor handed over a cheque to Re-Loved, which collects unwanted furniture and give it away free to people in crisis.

The money raised will fund the rent of the warehouse for two months.

Mr Taylor said: “The Kingsley Group has supported Re-Loved for a number of years and love all the great work they do in the local community.”

Sharon Fitzgerald, manager of Re-Loved, said: “We have provided free furniture to many clients in and around Worthing over the last few years who were in desperate need of essential items such as a bed or a sofa. We even had to kit out an entire flat.

“Most of our clients are referred by local agencies and have no other way of getting this furniture. We provide a vital service for families and individuals. This donation is fantastic and will help us continue this work.”
