Worthing pensioner fights off handbag thief

A BAG-SNATCHER got a surprise when he targeted an elderly woman in a Worthing street.

The stubble-faced, would-be thief grabbed the handbag of a 71-year-old woman in Clifton Road and tried to run off, but the determined pensioner refused to let go.

Eventually the frustrated thug ran off empty handed.

He is described as around 5ft 9in tall, with black, curly hair, and was wearing a black Puffa jacket.
