Keith Long, the Post Office area manager, said: “We know how important Post Office services are to residents in Worthing. We are confident these vibrant modern Post Offices, at the heart of the community, will be popular.”

The move is part of a major modernisation programme across the Post Office network designed to make it easier for customers to do business, through longer opening hours and modern open plan environments.

West Worthing Post Office has been under temporary management for a while, but now there is a permanent new postmaster Mr Sheyed Muthalif, who is carrying out extensive building work and completely modernising the whole Post Office and store. He is also adding a new retail range.

Improvements to the Post Offices will include extended opening hours, a new open-plan layout and bill payment, banking, benefits and travel money services, to name but a few.
