Charlotte Tyler, 28, of Durrington Hill, is part of Zyrah Rose, a girl group who has put a new spin on fantasy music themes with their operatic voices.

The group are best known online for singing a version of Game Of Throne’s main theme song, with added lyrics supplied by show composer Ramin Djawadi.

They released the song last year, generating more than 50,000 hits on YouTube, and have also released a video based on popular video game franchise Assassin’s Creed.

Charlotte said: “We are all from musical backgrounds and we knew each other and had the same interests. We came up with this idea with our management. We are classically trained, and we love classical music, so it is not the musical norm you hear from girl groups.

“I am a bit of a nerd and because I am part Asian I grew up with video games. All of that music you hear is very eerie and quite haunting to listen to.”

The group had an initial audition with producers from Britain’s Got Talent, after deciding to apply for the show to get some more exposure.

They were then put through to the judges rounds.

Charlotte added: “We were so nervous performing in front of Simon Cowell. It was a little nerve-wracking. I didn’t feel as nervous personally, but my parents were in the audience.

“When we were backstage, we could hear all the buzzers and they make you jump. But Ant and Dec were brilliant and fun, they are exactly what you see on TV and so nice.”

Readers can see if Zyrah Rose make it through to the next round on Britain’s Got Talent tomorrow night at 8pm on ITV.
