Worthing supermarket gives to charity

A YEAR of fundraising by staff at Sainsbury’s Lyons Farm has resulted in a £3,561.87 donation to a care home.

The Queen Alexandra Hospital Home (QAHH)was chosen to be the store’s charity partner for 2013/14 .

Over the last year, the store’s employees have held activities to raise funds and awareness of the charity’s cause.

Paul Humphries, store manager, said: “Our colleagues have really enjoyed working with The Queen Alexandra Hospital Home and it’s certainly touched the hearts of many of them that, before, didn’t necessarily have a direct link to them.”

Laura Wooley, from QAHH, said when she first learned the charity had been selected as a partner she had a ‘big grin’ on her face.
