Worthing trains cancelled after derailment

A DERAILMENT has caused all westbound trains at Worthing railway station to be cancelled.

They have been replaced with bus services, following the derailment at Angmering railway station, which happened today (September 26) at around 9.30am.

British Transport Police confirmed a train, which was carrying no passengers and was travelling at low speed, had come off the tracks.

A spokesman for the police said: “We can confirm a train derailed at Angmering railway station.

“It was carrying no passengers and was travelling at about 15 miles per hour.

“It is not being treated as a crime and no one from British Transport Police was called to the scene.”

Staff at Worthing Railway said trains were likely to be cancelled all day, leading to delays for people travelling westbound.
