Envelopes are provided in a collecting box for contributions to St Peter and St James Hospice.

Among the attractions presented by Mr Batchelor is a talking Father Christmas.

Mr Batchelor’s wife Judy said this year would be the last year the lights would be set up.

The hospice relies on fund-raising for a large proportion of its day to day running costs.

Mr Batchelor is one of thousands of people who help the hospice raise money throughout the year.

Some events are large while others are smaller affairs such as coffee mornings.

Mr Batchelor’s house is one of many now lit up in the Christmas style around Mid Sussex to bring some seasonal cheer. They range from the modest and gently charming to the eye-catching.
