Xmas tree recyclesuccess helps raisemoney for hospice

All the trees have now been donated to Port Lympne Reserve, where they are being used for building shelters for a variety of animals and as enrichment for the big cats, who love using the pre loved trees as scratching posts.

Chris Jones, from the hospice, said: “We are delighted to be working with Port Lympne again this year. Everyone loves the idea their tree will be reused and will benefit the animals at the reserve, whilst supporting their local Hospice.”

Simon Jeffery, Animal Manager at Port Lympne Reserve said “We were overwhelmed with the amount of Christmas trees we received from St Michael’s Hospice this year.

“Not only is it great news that so much money was raised for the hospice but it’s also great for us to be able to reuse and recycle these pre loved trees.

“We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who donated the trees and of course, a huge thank you to the hospice.”
