The money has been put towards the cost of recently-installed fencing around the group's meeting place at Yapton Free Church.

The proceeds will also help to buy toys for the children to enjoy themselves outdoors for the first time since the group began about 12 years ago.

Leigh Ravens, who runs the twice-weekly sessions with Liz Hutchings, said: "The children love being able to play outdoors. We decided against a trip to Fisher's Farm in favour of raising money for our own backyard."
