Young organplayers makebig impact atRye College
Two of Britain’s finest young musicians, Thomas Pickering aged 15 and Jemima May Henson aged 16, performed on Rye’s Wurlitzer theatre organ at Rye College on Friday December 5.
In the national competition ‘Young Theatre Organist of the Year’ Thomas came first and Jemima came second. Both performed and were interviewed on Nigel Ogden’s Radio Two programme ‘The Organist Entertains’ last Thursday evening.
They are members of Rye Wurlitzer Academy and were taught by Michael Wooldridge.
