The day consisted of coaching and competition provided in a fun way. Players were also given the chance to try their skills against a table tennis robot which proved very popular.

English Table Tennis Association coach Kevin Haffenden was delighted with the response commenting that he is discovering some hidden talent in the area.

The project, which was launched in November, will be holding a number of holiday events this year including a special competition to mark the 2012 Olympic Games.

Coaching is also underway at Rye College on Tuesdays with two sessions aimed at young people in Rye and the surrounding area.
