Youngsters learn valuable skills with Bexhill's firefighters on LIFE course

A GROUP of year nine girls from Bexhill High School have been working with local firefighters to complete the East Sussex Fire Service LIFE course.

This is aimed at developing social communication skills and team building skills through a range of activities linked to fire service activities.

Students worked alongside the fire service for the week, finishing with a passing out parade to which parents and staff from the school were invited.

A spokesperson for Bexhill High said the LIFE course had been “really beneficial” and had “significant impact on their learning and behaviour”.

“After completing the course, students believed they were really capable of achieving something, and this has now given them the belief to achieve in other areas of their lives. To see how proud they were of themselves at the passing out parade was wonderful to see.”
