St Peter & St James Hospice is encouraging people from across the county to complete a triathlon throughout the 29 days of February.

Participants will track their activity using distance tracking apps or by sharing photos of their exercise but can complete the challenge whenever, and wherever, they would like.

Burgess Hill’s Triangle Leisure Centre will offer free spin sessions throughout February to help participants reach the total 40km of cycling, 1.5km of swimming, and 10km of running or walking.

The hospice’s services cost £7,200 a day to run and virtual athletes are being asked to support this by raising £80 each.

Fiona Gray, events fundraiser at St Peter & St James Hospice, said: “As a charity, we rely on the generosity of our community to raise over 80 per cent of our running costs.

“Hospice care is very much about helping people to live their best possible quality of life, so events like this really do make a huge difference.”
