The Rye Observer and the Battle Observer are working with the Sussex Police and Crime Commissioner’s office to give its readers across East Sussex the opportunity to question those responsible for policing our towns and streets – police and crime commissioner Katy Bourne, Sussex Chief Constable Giles York and divisional commander Chief Superintendent Neil Honnor.

Mrs Bourne said, “I’m really looking forward to meeting East Sussex residents and formally introducing Giles York as the new Chief Constable of Sussex.

“I’m particularly delighted that we are bringing this conversation to the Winter Garden with the Observer and that we will be joined by a representative from the business community.”

You can join the Police and Crime Community Conversation at the special event in Eastbourne to be chaired by Observer editor-in-chief Keith Ridley in the Gold Room at the Winter Garden on December 9.

Also joining the panel will be Christina Ewbank, chief executive of Eastbourne Chamber of Commerce, who said, “I am looking forward to joining the PCC and Sussex Police as a guest panellist and answering questions from residents on any business concerns that they may have.”

The debate is one of a series to be held across Sussex to enable people to meet their police chiefs and debate the policing, crime anti-social behaviour and community issues that affect them.
