Your Eastbourne BID provides new summer planting scheme

Your Eastbourne BID has replaced 82 planters across the town centre, ready for the summer season.

Luke Johnson, BID Operations Manager said: "Since Monday, we've been working with the team at Handpicked to get ready for the summer planting scheme in the town centre. In total, 82 planters, including wooden planters and railing planters - have been cleaned, tidied, and replanting with a new colourful scheme".

Luke continued: "We know the importance of good flower beds and planting in the town centre and how impactful they can be. The BID - which is funded by businesses in the town centre - will ensure that they look great throughout the summer."

Luke added: "Whilst they are spread around the town at the moment, the wooden planters will be relocated during the pop-up park in July and August in Victoria Place.

"In addition, we have agreed to add additional planting to the beds in Cornfield Road outside Wards and Reid and Dean, as well as some additions to Hyde Gardens.

"Once the summer has concluded, the planters will be returned to businesses around the town centre for continued upkeep and we'd like to thank the businesses who have looked after them - in Grove Road, South Street, Gildredge Road, Cornfield Road and Terrace, as well as Langney Road and Bolton Road."
