Your news: Purrfect end for volunteer pair

An emotional and heartfelt 'goodbye' and 'thank you' was said by Branch members, helpers and regular shoppers to two very dedicated people at Cats Protection, Horsham Branch's 'Catstravaganza' fundraising event held at Roffey Millennium Hall on Saturday, 26th November.

Lorraine and Richard Milton have been active members of Cats Protection for 25 years.

They joined Horsham Branch initially helping out with fundraising and fostering. Besides fostering, they have always had their own beautiful cats.

They have three delightful bundles of fur at the moment.

Richard, however, soon undertook a number of DIY jobs for the branch, e.g. setting up pens for prospective fosterers.

Richard will be sorely missed as he sets up each “Catstravaganza” event, giving a helping hand to anyone who needs it plus serving refreshments and makes sure each venue is left impeccably clean and tidy.

Lorraine has held various roles within the Branch having been Branch Co-ordinator on two separate occasions and also Branch and Membership Secretary.

These in addition to helping out at Fundraising Events and organising the successful “Catstravaganza” Events.

As the years went by, Lorraine became the Baker Extraordinaire for the Branch.

At each fundraising event her sweet and savoury produce sold like “hot cakes,” making welcome extra income for the Branch.

A special Presentation Event will be held in January by Cats Protection, Horsham for Lorraine and Richard as a very special “thank you” to them for their friendship, support and dedication.
