Now that our lovely new Ringmer to Lewes cycle path is open, could I ask anyone who uses it to please take your litter home.
Don’t throw it on the ground for someone else to pick up.
On Wednesday afternoon – the day of the opening – I spent two hours picking up litter along the Ringmer section.
I came home with two bin bags full.
This was just from the cycle path, but there is still a lot of rubbish on the highway side of the hedge. It’s disgusting and it seems to be getting worse.
I am one of the small group of volunteers in Ringmer who do our best to keep our village tidy.If anyone is interested in joining us in our fight against litter, I can be contacted via the parish clerk in the village hall or the local community groups listing at the back of the parish magazine under Ringmer Volunteers.
