Car-less are favoured in Lewes

WHEN the private housing development starts on the site behind Lewes Library, where will the tenants of the new affordable housing park their cars? At the moment they park on the private housing site.

At each meeting and workshop to discuss the proposed housing, parking was discussed, with a decision made that priority for the affordable housing would go to people without cars because there would be no parking facilities on that site and public transport is central to the area.

Were the new tenants informed of the future problems they would be facing regarding parking their cars, and were they informed of the expenses incurred and that B and D parking is already full?
