Councillors must back our views on Ridgewood Farm

On Wednesday 28th November, Wealden’s full District Council meet to recommend the adoption of the core strategy for the Wealden district including the development at Ridgewood farm – a massive 1,000 houses, factory units and a school.

Our five district councillors from Uckfield should be attending. I just hope we are not “sold down the river”.

We need all the infrastruture in place first ie more parking in the town and at the hospital, larger supermarkets, a better road system including the bypass – the requirements are endless.

The majority of people in Uckfield are against this development. In the past few years, about 300 new houses have been built in Uckfield with no new inferstructure put in place.

With the possibility of a development behind the hospital being consided again, it is with this in mind that our councillors, who we voted in, must represent the people of Uckfield, not back the government policy to turn Uckfield into a concrete jungle.
