Disease resistant elms for Seaford

It was great to read the article in the Sussex Express (November 9) about the work of the Seaford tree wardens. I just wanted to correct a minor misunderstanding, which is that, unfortunately, we will not be replanting elm trees in the Chyngton area of Seaford. The trees planted there will be different species but we hope to plant a small number of disease resistant elm trees in the town as part of a nation-wide project run by the Conservation Foundation.

We were pleased to see the work of the tree wardens highlighted in the Sussex Express and hope that some readers will be encouraged to get involved.
