ESCC needs transparency when it comes to future of County Hall in Lewes

I wholeheartedly support Cllr Matt Kent’s quest to find out what ESCC’s intentions are over the future of County Hall, as reported in last week’s issue.

The County Council behave as if they were a private business entitled to conceal commercially sensitive information. This is nonsense; they are a public body, accountable to us, the residents of East Sussex.

This issue should never be just about the money they hope to one day fetch. It’s about being honest and transparent to those they serve so that everyone can have a say in the debate. It’s not fair to have this rumour hanging over Lewes - the county town deserves better treatment.

I wish Cllr Kent every success in obtaining this information on our behalf.
