I do agree with Mr Towner regarding the building of a Premier Inn in Lewes.
We do need more accommodation for overnight visitors.
We have many visitors who walk the Downs and need an overnight stop-over, as well as Glyndebourne patrons, who would all do our town good.
The town does need a lift and this could do it as long as the new building is in keeping with the town and not built too high, and doesn’t take over the, car-park area.
Please also do somethong about traffic in the Cliffe, what with lorries delivering and people stopping and parking cars to ‘nip’ out to buy something. We’ve seen that happen. Could deliveries be restricted between certain times? it is supposed to be a “pedestrian precinct”.
