I wonder how many people in our town know of the government plans to privatise and fragment our NHS?
Local doctors are in the process of forming a Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) for the area.
They are going to get new powers to decide what health services are available to access, and who provides them. The doctors on the local CCG will be under pressure from the government to hand out contracts to private companies, but the last thing most doctors want is to carve up our NHS for private profit.
The new CCG has a legal duty to listen to local people.
Do the local people know about this?
If not, they ought to make their voices heard to stop the government’s plans to privatise our NHS.
