Heathfield lifted by Le Marche market success

Heathfield was blooming at the Le Marche on Bank Holiday Monday, festival weather drew huge crowds and the colour and music painted a glorious picture.

Delighted to see so many Heathfield traders opening their doors to the invasion. Hopefully those from this side of the channel will come back regularly to see a market town with plenty to offer.

My commendations to Richard Ridley and his hard working organizing Committee and to Gill Temple and her Twinning Association for their hospitality to the visitors from Forges-les-Eaux and Seine Maritime. .

Also in blooming good health have been the exam results for Heathfield Community College Students.

The A level (A-E) results were 99.4% passed, of real achievement were the 87% A*-C results which is the highest ever recorded.

The AS results were equally promising with 93% passes. The GCSE results reached new heights with 74% achieving A*-C results (including English and Maths,) the highest ever recorded and one of the absolute best records in the County.

A wonderful achievement for the students, the supporting families and not least the first class efforts of the principal, Alan Powell, and his triumphant teaching staff.
