Hospital downgrade threat?

THERE is talk that Eastbourne District General Hospital is to be downgraded to cottage hospital status.

If this is true, I can’t help wondering when ‘the powers that be’ might have a go at our own hospital and decide that it is not needed. They would be wrong.

I understand that there are very few, if any, beds at the Vic. Let us refurnish the Vic as it should be and use it as it should be used. It could even be used to relieve bed blocking, by older patients, in Brighton, just ensure that it stays open. There must be an organisation in the town which could organise a poll of the people of Lewes.
