LETTER: Get in touch

Why do people like Allan Latham (Sussex Express, March 3, Ukip councillor resigns) suddenly want to throw their toys out of the pram and try to get others to join them.

Alan has worked hard for the Ukip cause; yes we have had the referendum and the party needs an ovehaul.

We have an engine that needs a good service; it’s getting one, and when it comes back it will be the best run machine we have had for a long time. I go to London each month with a policy review group. I have inside information.

What are the other options? If you have a Conservative administration and they find a man who’s down, their answer is to kick him.

A Labour administration would give him some money so he doesn’t have to get up, with a Liberal/ Democrat administration they would take the easy option and give our country away altogether.

I invite anyone out there who has concerns regarding over development, lack of infrastructure, seeing the health service going to the wall, and the care system out of control.

We are about to build on floodplains and green fields. There will be traffic gridlock, and we will choke, starve or drown, unless we stop this push for continuous growth. we should be asking, can we feed, house and care for ourselves?

The answer is no, unless we make some radical changes.

The fields in Uckfield, Hailsham, Polegate and Willingdon are about to go under concrete and tarmac: we should be building communities not just estates. And if this continues we will see more self harming, suicides, mental health issues and depression.

May I invite anyone who would like to stand in the county council elections in May, to get in touch .

It doesn’t matter what party you support, as we can join a countywide initiative.

Cllr Laurence Keeley,

Fairfield, Herstmonceux
