LETTER: I really feel Eastbourne District General Hospital staff should be praised

I have just returned from a stay at this hospital and would like you to know my feelings on this experience.

Prior to being admitted I was somewhat dismayed by the appalling media coverage given to this hospital and I was not confident about the forthcoming experience, however I can only speak as I find:

From start to finish the staff in the Urology department were amazing and all contact/treatment has been professional, caring and every step is fully explained.

I cannot thank these doctors and nurses enough.

The admissions staff were superb, the surgeon and anaesthetist who came to see me prior to my operation were so kind and informative taking time to explain things to me.

Staff in Recovery were all superb, kind, supportive and caring.

The doctors and nursing staff on the ward were also excellent and helped my stay at Eastbourne as pleasant as possible and I know this helped my recovery.

The frontline staff in your hospital seem so committed to their patients I feel they are getting a undeserved bad press at the moment.

Please pass on my thanks.

I really feel that the staff should be praised.
