Missing out on solar benefits

I noticed recently that Telscombe Town Council have installed solar PV panels on the roof of the council building which will save their taxpayers money on the electricity used all day for many years to come, it may also be making money due to the Feed In Tariff (FIT) which is about to be reduced for new installations but not for existing ones.

For the financial year 2009/10 Newhaven Town Council gave out over £58,000 of Council Tax Payers money in grants to various organisations.

Unfortunately Newhaven Town Council has left it too late now to benefit from these generous payments, perhaps had they not given away quite so much money they could have installed some solar panels on their South facing roof before the good deals ended.
