I HAVE been unfortunate enough to have and still need hospital treatment namely from the Princess Royal in Haywards Heath, Brighton General and Sussex County as well as the Queen Victoria in East Grinstead, but I was fortunate enough to find that I have been in the care of so many kind and caring nursing staff.
As I am profoundly deaf, my method of communication is mainly by lip reading so I was very concerned about the fact that I would have difficulty understanding what was happening or what was being said as masks were at times being worn.
I need not have worried because my details were already logged on screen which had alerted them to my disability.
Everyone was kindness itself, even the surgeon removed his mask to speak with me, each and everyone who was involved in my care treated me with dignity and understanding, so for all of whom I was involved, a very big heartfelt thank you, each and every one of you deserve a medal.
We hear so much of the few who have tarnished the reputation of NHS care so I felt I should applaud the many more who go unheard but richly deserve the praise that’s not often coming.
Thank you all.
